Thank heaven for help!

Well it seems I cannot keep up with my overachievement alone! Matthew the gardener had to come this week to bail me out of my planting woes...He worked for 2 days straight, we still aren't done! But it is better! I finally got the tomatoes in and some basil and thyme etc...I really love using the fresh herbs and bounty of our small kitchen garden, it makes me feel so old-fashioned!Be very careful about planting lemon balm though, it is delightful but has taken over 1/2 the garden... I can't seem to pull out enough!
Being old fashioned is a good thing around here, our guests really enjoy the extra touches like a homemade dessert, or our handmade truffles.
I wish I had lived the idyllic childhood we ruminate about, my childhood was actually quite painful, my brother and sister were much older and loved to torture me, under the guise of "playing". I never had anything that wasn't a handmedown and still have nightmares about "bellypumpers" .maybe that's why I really love to manipulate my environment so much.I am always trying to create an oasis of peace and calm and joy, through the garden and the comfort of our home. However we must have irritated some of our younger neighbors as they had the audacity to egg our house last night.I thought that was only appropriate at Halloween!Wish I could catch the little buggers, I'd show them about the purpose of eggs...besides, how dare they waste such a wonderful and versatile ingredient! It did give me the giggles though, new meaning to "sidewalk so hot it could fry an egg" which it really was!Gotta run to water the kitchen garden, am sneaking a few tomatoes in the beds also, maybe no one will notice...
