Well it seems I cannot keep up with my overachievement alone! Matthew the gardener had to come this week to bail me out of my planting woes...He worked for 2 days straight, we still aren't done! But it is better! I finally got the tomatoes in and some basil and thyme etc...I really love using the fresh herbs and bounty of our small kitchen garden, it makes me feel so old-fashioned!Be very careful about planting lemon balm though, it is delightful but has taken over 1/2 the garden...

Well; thats over! We survived the 900 mile trip , and the cake actually made it! I had modelled two fish with googlie eyes and big kissy lips for the topper and made a ton of white chocolate coral and seashells! It was too cute! I hope they liked it! The wedding really was the prettiest one I have ever seen, all the bridesmaids were so beautiful, and you know how unusual that is!

Hi! After many months of planning, editing and research the new website is up and running!Phew! I hope all enjoy the extra photos we included to give a better overview of the inn, some times it can be difficult to shoot a room but our photographer Murray Lee was wonderful! We just returned from a 3 day trip to Savannah,Georgia, a little interlude before the holiday madness and we ate our way through that City! The Sapphire Grill was great but I think our favorite was Elizabeths on 37th, a contemporary take on local southern fare!

Whew; it was cold out! We do not usually experience that type of bitter cold for any length of time. Not only did we get over 2 foot of snow it stayed below freezing for the better part of a month! So the new stone work on the carriage house cracked and heaved and the sprinkler system under the driveway ruptured and I can hardly wait to get the gas bill...but, then the weather changed and the sprinkler is fixed and the stonework laid down again and all the birds are singing away!

Seems like every year just slips by faster and faster, here it is the 8th of December already and i am just finishing up all the Holiday decorating! It is especially beautiful this year with the new additions from Savannah, and we are making an extra special effort as we are on the Holiday tour of homes for the Montford neighborhood. They expect 400 participants, should be very exciting. I never get to see the other homes, though, as we are always busy handing out cookies!
